River Woods Red Birds Reach New Perch
You can be part of the legacy!
River Woods Elementary School Home & School Association is building an outdoor classroom, aptly named, The Nest. The beautiful new space – a gift from the Home & School Association – will be unveiled to students and families this fall. The project was funded via parent and community donations raised during the school’s 20th year birthday celebration. Great Scapes of Naperville designed and will build this unique classroom which incorporates paver bricks, benches and landscaping. Teachers can use the space as an extension for classroom activities with a totally different sensory and learning experience. Additionally, students can truly be part of the Nest through the Red Bird Legacy Lane – a walkway of engraved paver bricks leading to The Nest.
Two sizes of dedicated, engraved bricks are available to the community for a tax-deductible donation of either $50 or $75. Perhaps your children or grandchildren attended River Woods Elementary or you simply want to be part of this great project. To order an engraved brick or for more information, access the ordering information at the River Woods web page (schools.naperville203.org/riverwoods). Information is available under the “News and Announcements” section. The ordering deadline is Friday, August 29, 2008.
