Winter 2009 Newsletter: Holiday Party
By Dave Sherman
On December 12th, our subdivision got together to celebrate the holidays at Scott Welch’s and Kara Novin’s home. They did a great job hosting, and their house was filled with the holiday spirit.
After a couple hours of eating, drinking and playing pool, we had a White Elephant Exchange. It’s amazing what people were willing to give to their fellow neighbor. Some of the gifts were a board game based on the show “Lost”, a pair of beer goggles, a water pitcher in the shape of a penguin, a one foot large ET statue, a picture of our esteemed Governor, an almost too life-like black cat and a couple other gifts that were very “popular”…
Afterward, we decided to help celebrate Julie Havemann?s birthday by driving to her house and adding a few additional outdoor Christmas decorations. Julie and John were most appreciative of our efforts, except for the fact it was 10pm when we finished. Sorry, John.
Finally, we finished our night at the Shermans and compared the “thoughtful” gifts we had all received.
A good time was had by all, and for those of you who could not make it, you were missed!!
