Fall Newsletter: Giving Tree
By Maureen Lein
Every year since I can remember, Farmington has been a part of the Giving Tree. This is a charitable opportunity, which in the past involved sending gifts to organizations that help needy families throughout the holiday season. We have decided to change our focus this year, and concentrate on our families right here in Farmington and our immediate neighborhoods. As we all know, every family has been affected by this economy. Everyone is struggling in their own way and some more so than others. We want our friends and neighbors to know that there is help out there and we would welcome the opportunity to help make their holidays a little more special this season.
If you or anyone you know is in need this holiday season, please contact Maureen Lein at 630-660-7760 and she will walk you through the process. The Giving Tree will remain anonymous. For those of you who would like to assist our families and friends in need, Maureen will have a tree set up on her front porch at 2413 Remington Drive by November 20th. The tree will have envelopes containing gifts that our local families have requested, so please take the time to stop by and pick one up. You will receive further directions when you stop by. Happy Holidays Farmington!
