Fall Newsletter: President’s Message
By Maureen Lein
What a fun summer Farmington had this year, even though the weather wasn’t all that great I think we enjoyed the summer fun anyway. Hopefully everyone has gotten back into their normal routines and you are keeping your family healthy.
I want to start by saying thank you to all the volunteers this summer who put in a lot of time, energy and patience while planning all the events. To date we are still receiving emails and phone calls praising the Block party. Not only did the block party have a snow cone machine, popcorn maker, and good food but we had a DJ that rocked all day and to top it off the kids (and parents) did the hula hoop contest, sack races and water balloon toss along with horse racing and the limbo contest. I am very glad so many neighbors showed up and had as much of a good time as I did.
Farmington also held its annual Deck Crawl with the theme “Survivor.” Since the turnout was a bit smaller then in the past we were all able to stay together in 2 teams for every deck we traveled to, which made it a very competitive night. Congratulations to Julie Havemann for winning the whole thing. (P.S. I am still very upset I was traded.) Please take the time to look over your newsletter and check out all the fun photos of these events and if you were unable to make them this year we will count on you participating next time. As always, Farmington is constantly looking for volunteers to help with our events, without volunteers none of this is made possible. We have a small amount of volunteers who seem to be running all of our events and we want to give them some breathing room, so please volunteer up your time so we can keep these events going.
